Round Cotton Modules (bales) L1060518
Round cotton modules at Brighann Cotton Marketing's warehouse and cotton ginning facility in the Gwydir Valley west of Moree, NSW..A round module (also known as bales or eggs) of harvested cotton contains, by weight, about 55% cottonseed, 35% cotton lint and 10% waste. The 2.8 tonne, 2.3 metre diameter round modules are trucked from cotton fields to a number of factories in regional NSW and Queensland where the lint is separated from seed. ..In mid-2018, each round module was worth between AUD$ 2,500-3,500. Each round module yields about 3.8 standard cotton bales (500lbs or 227kg). Brighann markets to China, Thailand and Japan. Cotton seed is used for cooking oil and animal feed.
